Open Season 3 - Shot #08

Mr. Winnie meet his friends after a long time.
Roberto (dog-eared): Wow, is she always like this?
Mr. Winnie: Yeah, But It's not so bad ... My friends, it's so good to see you all!
Stanley (chubby cat): Yeah, you too!
Roberto: You look great!
Roger (skinny cat): Winnie, it's been ages!

Mr. Winnie se encontra com os amigos depois de um longo tempo.
Roberto (cachorro orelhudo): Wow, is she always like this?
Mr. Winnie: Yeah, but it’s not so bad... My friends, it’s so good to see you all!
Stanley (gato gorducho): Yeah, you too!
Roberto: You look great!
Roger (gato magrelo): Winnie, it’s been ages!



I think that was the shot that I had more work to do, not by the complexity itself, but the knock-back versions. It was the shot with more modifications requested by the director throughout the process, and all changes were related to Mr. Winnie. I stopped to reflect and come to the conclusion that this happened because of some factors, first because it was the first shot that I did with various characters, despite being a relatively simple shot, after all they are stopped, there is almost no touch interaction and each one speaks separately. Of course a shot with five characters seldom requires five times more work, but a shot like that with 11 seconds... production seems to walk slowly! You spend all morning working on that and it seems that you produced nothing... I spent more than two weeks in this shot. Some times I ended up not paying more attention on the entertainment the shot should show the viewer at all, after so much time working on the same shot the less entertained person was me :P Not that I was not entertained, absolutely yes, but there is always that urge to start a new shot. I really enjoyed doing shots from 4 to 6 seconds. It is an ideal time... is not so little time to lose the shot in a flash and not long enough to get bored of doing.

Creio que essa foi a cena que eu tive mais trabalho de fazer, não pela complexidade em si, mas pelo bate-volta de versões. Foi a cena com mais modificações pedidas pelo diretor ao longo do processo, e todas as modificações foram relativas ao Mr. Winnie. Parei para refletir e cheguei a conclusão que isso aconteceu devido ha alguns fatores, o primeiro porque foi a primeira cena que eu peguei com vários personagens, mesmo sendo uma cena relativamente simples, afinal eles estão parados, quase não há interação de toque e cada um fala saparadamente. Claro que uma cena com 5 personagens raramente exige 5 vezes mais trabalho, mas uma cena como essa de 11 segundos... a produção parece que não rende! Você passa a manhã inteira trabalhando na cena e parece que não produziu nada... Eu fiquei mais de 2 semanas nessa cena. Alguns momentos eu acabei não prestando mais atenção no entretenimento que a cena deveria passar ao espectador, afinal depois de tanto tempo trabalhando na mesma cena o menos entretido era eu :P Não que eu não estava entretido, claro que sim, mas existe sempre aquela vontade de começar uma cena nova. Eu gostei muito de fazer cenas de 4 a 6 segundos. É um tempo ideal... não é tão pouco tempo a ponto de perder a cena num piscar de olhos e nem muito tempo a ponto de enjoar de fazer.
